Sounders Vs. Herediano

I love surprises that involve a date night with my husband. Ken called last night to say that he won Sounders tickets. I have yet to see a Sounders Football game (or Soccer here in the US) and the seats were really good, right in the middle only 20 rows back. What we didn't realize is that the fans for a Sounders game are very excited, and nobody wants to sit down, ever. I felt like a game would be like in South America or England, only the seats were not filled up. That didn't diminish the fans.

At half time Ken and I actually moved up in the seats so we could sit for the game and found that farther up the seats are nicer, we think they are nicer because they are covered and don't get rained on. The Sounders lost 1-0, but the game was well played. The Sounders tried to score numerous time, but the other goalie was amazing, I couldn't believe some of the saves.

We also learned that the chants that the fans do can be very disturbing. Every time a member of the Herediano's would go to the ground in pain, to show they were injured whether real or imagined, the crowd would chant over and over "let him die, let him die." Ken and I thought for sure we misheard, but no, these fans are fanatical, and to them this chant was very appropriate. We did not feel the need to join in. The chanting of "Sounders" or "Goal" we joined in on, but at least half of the chants we never did figure out. We tried but ended up just enjoying the people watching since we couldn't quite join in all of it.

When the game ended and we were going home, I couldn't thank Ken enough. He wouldn't have even entered to win these tickets if I wasn't such a sports fan. It was a date night around what I like, and I appreciate that, so thanks again for wonderful evening love!

Opening Day of the Puyallup Fair

Jennifer and I came with Lily and Olivia to the Puyallup Fair opening day.  We started with a visit from the princesses at Princess Academy.  A dream come true for these two.

Then Olivia showed off her cowgirl hat to the real cowboys and girls during the rodeo parade before the opening of the fair.

Then off to milk Mabel the cow.  A yearly tradition.

The animals were creative this year.  Who knew pink ponies existed.

Then to the music making.

We met up with Vinnie.

So much fun, and then we got lost going back to the car!  The kids were troopers, and luckily they had enough fun to keep there spirits up, but I had to carry a very worn out Olivia to the car.  It was worth it.
