After reading our scriptures and opening Christmas Eve Pajamas, all the girls were ready for bed so they could get up bright and early for Christmas presents.

Decorating Christmas tree with no electricity

We ended up getting the carpet stretched, so our beautifully decorated tree had to be taken down.  The carpet was finished, the furniture was brought back in, but then we lose electricity.  What do you do when the electricity goes out?  For us all our kids plans were suddenly cancelled and we decided it was a perfect time to decorate the Christmas tree using flashlights.  The kids loved it!

Our family tradition is to decorate the fake tree the day after Thanksgiving.  Instead of Black Friday being a rush to buy things we wanted to change it to a family day of fun and music.  We don't leave the house if we can help it (although Amazon may have gotten some money).  As a twist, Alicia helped Ken put the angel on top of the tree.
